Media notes
After playback of my recording made at 13h41m46s, I glimpsed a becard fly toward our house and made this recording, presumably of the same individual male (but I never saw this one well). It did the excited twittering call. Background includes: distant Acorn Woodpeckers. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
Started calling while I was trying to locate and record a N. Parula near Cave Creek in our yard; I diverted my attention to trying to record and see the Becard. Recordings attached. It was mostly giving the single-note Squeal or Long Slur calls, but twice I heard the excited twittering call (and caught one of them). It was a rather pale gray male with a relatively dull pink patch on its throat. It flew around among the now very leafy green trees, visiting hackberries, elms, junipers, Arizona Sycamore, and a tall cottonwood. I left to call folks and lost track of it. We could not refind it.
