Observation details
Grey faced petrel calls, surveying potential nesting sites & mates at the top of cliff. Recordings taken at the bottom of cliff, so very quiet sound. Group of undergrad students from UOA went- there are a few calls made by PhD student mimicking their mating calls. Students sat down and listened for ~2 hours, PhD student and supervisor left to band 20 grey faced petrel. Birds coming in to prepare for courting, not fully in mating season at this time. Recording started at 7:24 pm.
