Observation details
Including 1 *beyond property boundary*, immediately downstream. The other individual was a short distance upstream from the diversion dam, singing frequently in and near an alder along the creek. I observed it visiting a ca 10 cm diameter cavity in the alder, which was stuffed full of sticks (I had not noticed this on previous surveys, and I highly suspect that the sticks are new). From this, I assume that he had recently built this "dummy nest", since the behavior matches very well with what I know of HOWR breeding biology.
