Observation details
Called a few times, then flew in close in response to playback. It then sat still for at least 10 minutes while I observed (and photographed it through binoculars). It called several more times, and interestingly it appeared to call with its bill closed. My first record of this species in Kampong Thom province, though it was reported once at this site last year by others. Also my first time seeing this species; before it was heard-only. Got a poor-quality photo, but good enough for ID.
