Observation details
Continuing bird first reported by Caleb Helsel. Singing persistently at N30.27033, W 97.82635 (about 100-150 yards downstream from base of Hill of Life) while perched in trees up to 15 feet above ground and foraging in leaves within 5 feet of trail in full view. Appeared completely unfazed by my presence 10 feet or less away. Unmarked cream-colored underparts. Solid brown uppuerparts with no wingbars. Crown a warmer brown color, with pale supercilium separating crown from dark ocular stripe. Pale, pinkish legs and feet, and long bill. Photos the best I could do with extremely poor light. Song very similar to that of Hooded Warbler, but without doubled opening phrase: “oh, no, don’t step in poo!” Great find! Thanks, Caleb!
