Observation details
While I was photographing this bird, which was vocalizing, Merlin heard both a yellow-bellied flycatcher and an Acadian flycatcher. My guess is this was a yellow-bellied, based mostly on the narrowness and shortness of the tail. The moderate forehead angle also points to yellow-bellied. The round crown in one photo again suggests yellow-bellied, but in the other photo here, the crown seems to have a peak, which suggests Acadian (but Stokes says, of yellow-bellied: "Crown usually rounded, but can have small peak on hindcrown when alert"). Happy to change if my guess is wrong! EDIT: Changing to Acadian! My first guess seems to have been wrong.
