NOTES: "chorus of Rustys in a tree." [Two structurally different song-types appear to be represented here, but contrary to the description in BNA, the dichotomy appears to be between songs with NO pure tones at all and those that include such tones. It appears that both example spectrograms in BNA (Figure 2A & B) represent subtle variations within the second of these two types. It is also likely that the present recording involved a migrant flock with multiple birds vocalizing, so it may not be representative of birds sinigng on the breeding grounds. Scattered throughout the recording are the typical "check" calls of the species, the best examples being at 1:49-1:51 and 1:59-2:01. Quality added (2) - CAM - 19 January 2005].

Background Species

American Robin - Turdus migratorius
