Observation details
First spotted by Wendy. Long curved bill, pale grayish tan bird about the same size as a California Thrasher, which we see where we live. Singing from a dead tree branch. Photos and audio will be added when I get home. A wonderful surprise. At first we thought Mockingbird but pretty quickly thought thrasher and recorded it. I managed to upload one cropped picture by cell phone. Better quality later plus audio. Notes May 20: hopefully the added photos and audio will help with the review. I wasn't able to get photos of the undertail coverts. The facial pattern did not look like the bolder throat stripes of a Crissal's to me, but they are both lifers for me, so I'll leave that to review. Thanks.
