Observation details
I saw a wonderful phenomenon tonight. I counted 174 birds all cedar waxwings, perched on the upper branches of a somewhat tall tree, on the edge of hydraulic Road across from the shopping center… At first, I assumed they would be starlings. But, as I got close, I was surprised to see they were all cedar waxwings… Then I saw smaller groups of about 15 or so arriving at the top or leaving the top. Then I saw that thenv birds were flying across the street to a small tree ripe with very red berries. They. would very actively pick the berries and then fly again across the street. Then another group would come and it was a continual movement of small groups of birds to and from the fruit tree back to the tall roosting tree.… Merlin thinks there ate also Bohemian waxwings mixed in There, not seem to appear in this area, unless there was an odd migration
