The bean-goose calls twice in this recording: a low pitched "whinny" as I call it
Observation details
Continuing bird (originally found at Piute Ponds on 3/6/23 by J.F.) now at Apollo Park. Associating with Canada Geese in the northeast portion of the park by the water's edge. Small size comparable to a Ross's or Cackling Goose. All brown body and neck, with right wing held lower than left. Head was also all brown except for a small amount of white just above the bill. Stout slate-colored bill with a ring of orange just before the tip. Legs were orange. The bird gave occasional low-pitched "whinnying" noises. Diagnostic photos and poor recordings taken.
