Observation details
Rare for Date and Location: At the Return-A Gift pond location a medium-sized bird flew on top of the small weeds on the same side as the fire hydrant. Impression was of an unusual bird, perhaps some immature/ molting NOCA. Appeared confiding; not unnerved by my presence. Was able to take photos in favorable lighting. Diagnostic photos show a female BLGR. Rich brown upperparts, thick silvery bill, with buffy wingbars. Underpart unstreaked, more light grayish. Overall a beautiful, rich-colored bird without sparkling colors. Time: appx.12:20 pm. Photos
