Observation details
Greenish empid with wingbars and very fine whitish eye-ring. Reported as Alder this am by John Haire. It would not sing its full song. Multiple pip calls and slightly longer calls. Responded to Alder calls and was agitated. Also was agitated to a much lesser extent by Willow song. Pictures by others. It hung around in brushy trees and vines along the creek. Both Alder and Willow have been reported here in the past years. On the sonograms of the vocalizations from multiple people the pip calls with the dark blurry trail toward the top and the pee-oo calls seem to support Alder according to page 89 of the new North American Flycatchers by Lee and Birch 2023.
