Observation details
In my opinion, the bird mainly shows the plumage of an adult male Crested Honey Buzzard (tail pattern!). The chin was typically whitish and the gorget dark. Other features looked more mixed, including the not so prominent P6. Also the eye color appeared to be rather yellowish than dark red (as in adult CHB). Compared to the hundreds of migrating EHBs the bird appeared larger and heavier. Generally, the features point a bit more to CHB, but due to the mixed features a hybrid (suspected by a CBH expert) might be likely.
