Observation details
Continuing rarity around the fort area of Fort Nepean. Thin beak, white throat, bright red on head, underside, and rump. Black mask. White tail feather tips seen while in flight. First seen on the trail heading toward the engine house from the public toilet. We later refound him in the first concrete area after walking up the steps on the south side of the fort. He was quite tame and activity feeding on insects on the path and then perching up quite close to us.
