Observation details
Molting from white winter plumage to breeding plumage with some new brownish, rufous and golden feathers on head and neck. Small black bill, white feathered legs and feet. Eating buds. Amazingly gorgeous bird, a first for Point Pelee. Observed at the tip and along the west beach side where it ate buds, then rested for a while. It repeated the same pattern, and continued eating buds and moving south.
