NOTES: Copy from Grace Bell. Recorded by Lt-Cmdr J.R.M. Cook and J.L. Lightman; H.M. Dockyard, Esquimalt. [sp?mf]; Transducer 25-30 feet deep at 1/2 mile from Verdier Pt. Whales came south in 3 groups, 1 came within 50 yds before sounding. 5-7 in group. In one voices of cow and calf. Group appeared to go directly under recorder. Ship noise evident.
