Observation details
Based on short bill length and very long primary extensions, I'd call this an American golden-plover rather than a Pacific golden-plover. Lauri got some nice photos I'm sure she'll post shortly. - Last seen flying north at a high altitude with some dowitchers, possibly scared off by an unsupervised waif who looked like a Great Depression poster child from Appalachia, who kept tromping after us through the phragmites wearing what looked like Charlie Chaplin's lunch in "The Gold Rush" and warning us not to scare off the fish her (imagined?) parents were attempting to secure. But it (the plover) might still be in the area because it earlier made some smaller hops where it circled back prior to the she-waif's arrival.
