The Swifts!!! Without a shadow of a doubt, this was the best Swift showing since the February 2018 display with the one Fork-Tail in the midst of things; today, the Swifts had found a particularly good swarm of insects directly above the balcony, and they were looping and scything this way and that directly above me, the air shrilling through their eponymous spined tails!! Curiously enough, they were also quite vocal as they went about their business, which I've not really heard before of a Swift; I can only compare the cry, with I would say some accuracy, to a blood-curdling scream delivered in an extremely quiet whisper...
