2nd cycle presumed Glaucous x American Herring Gull
Observation details
A 1st cycle bird that had wings and tail resembling juv. Thayer's Gull, but bird large and with large, long, parallel-sided bill with bright pink base and black tip. Neatly checkered and patterned on wing coverts and tertials. Photo with Slaty-backed Gull. Also a 2nd cycle bird that appears to be the same as photographed nearby on 5 January. Two somewhat better images of that bird below photo with 1st cycle bird.
