Media notes
Immature Harris's Sparrow showing that it is nearing completion of Spring molt.
Observation details
I spotted a Harris's Sparrow in my backyard that first spotted on April 16 and last saw on April 25. It appears to be the same immature bird seen before as it is still progressing through Spring molt. I have included photos to document the sighting. I have noticed that the Harris's Sparrow does not appear to associate with any of the other bird species in that, while it shows up when the other birds and specifically white-crowned Sparrows are in the backyard, it does not arrive with them and can leave before they leave. When it shows up it always leaves when the other birds are spooked, but does not return when they do. It might return well after or not at all.
