Observation details
Found by Rob & Mike Waldhuber (thanks for the heads up!). Photos to be added. WCSP-like head but with unusually pale face & head stripes incomplete and "messy looking" towards the back of the head. Eye line does not extend from eye to bill (suggestive of Gambel's). Paleish bill, WTSP-like throat patch. Bird was WTSP size (smaller than WCSP), when compared with nearby WTSP and compared to WCSP seen a few days later. Recognizing the mind can play tricks, this bird gave a totally different vibe than a "pure" WCSP in both size and head markings. Really cool looking bird!
