Jeff Kingery [This recording contains both the Primary Advertising Call by a male (0:04-1:40, 2:28-3:30; the monotonous, "kek" notes speeding up and slowing down) and several series of "Clapper" Calls (1:42-1:48, 3:09-3:14) by a pair of R. l. caribaeus, based on range (following BNA and Peters checklist). See also Figures 1 and 2 of Massey and Zembal (1987. Vocalizations of the Light-footed Clapper Rail. J. Field Ornithol. 58:32-40). The series at 3:00-3:03 was given by Gallinula chloropus, as were scattered other calls throughout this recording.
