Observation details
Very surprising to see these birds! They were in the last cottonwood before the red footbridge (https://goo.gl/maps/mwcMFDEXRtVkPYKJ9) mixed in with a mountain of Yellow-rumps. I knew what it was immediately upon seeing the first individual: a small warbler, notably smaller than the adjacent Yellow-rumps, all pale gray below except for a yellowish wash across the vent, contrasting with both the belly and the under tail coverts. The tail was short. The back was lime green, contrasting with the grayish hood and white supercilium. Blank face, with thin, sharp bill. Silent. My views were good but relatively brief before the first bird moved into the willows and appeared to head upstream. I was standing around the Cottonwood for a bit longer, wondering what else might show up when I noticed the Tennessee Warbler was back. Since I’d failed to get digibin photos, I laid down on the ground to try, as the bird was straight overhead. After some struggle I got some IDable photos, but at one point I looked at the bird and noticed that there were two together. Very surprising. Both looked about the same. I believe all photos are of the same individual.
