Observation details
A very surprising sighting, coming into mob track at the lower stone bridge. Very rare in El Paso, just the second spring record for the county and about the fifth overall and the first for Memorial Park. It was silent and was not especially cooperative but we got some photos. Medium-sized all-gray Vireo, darker above than below. Prominent white eye ring and two pale grayish wing bars on a darker gray wing were the only real field marks. The tail was somewhat long, and was kept cocked up was flipped around, somewhat reminiscent of a Wilson’s Warbler.
