NOTES: (Breeding Status; Territorial, post-breeding. Visual Display: described verbally on tape. Env. Zone: Tropical-subtropical. Gen. Climate: Arid, cyclic wet-dry. Gen. Habitat: pastured acacia woodland degraded. Habitat Types: Near dammed pond dry water course; scattered trees mostly thicket & bush to 5 m. Cover Density: Open, medium.) Initially natural, no playback. Playback was ussed in order to net and mark (ring) but also as we were at the end of the season in order to see displays and hear the rep. of this population. The PB starts after Lester speaks initially. He had recordings of same spp from Lewa Downs (farther east). At one point it is calling with the PB. Both sexes call (i.e. both of these were calling/singing). The tempo and calls do vary. Two of them male and female will call synchronously. Both "hoot" and "wyah" calls are heard (Land the skizz). Butterfly flight seen in display flight. Response to playback: Different song. Other Behaviors: Advertise, Mate, Perform Visual Display. Habitat: Forest, Pasture, Thicket/Brush, Scrub.
