NOTES: (Bkground Sounds: Mukutan River. No. of Animals: Unknown age, unknown sex. Gen. Climate: Arid, cyclic wet-dry.) This was likely a young but was at the comb hive. There were three or four P. barbatus that were feeding on the beedcomb in our feeding (tray) hive and indeed defended the hive and food source against the smaller spp of honeyguides, e.g. I. minor.
