Observation details
At an address in west El Paso, not far from the Rio Grande. It was feeding on what appeared to be ornamental berries of some type, possibly pear. Others had a spotting scope trained on the bird when I arrived. It was at a residence, across from a golf course. Apparently it has been there for 4-6 weeks. Photos are with a poor quality point & shoot, but was able to approach very close without disturbing him. A robin harassed it quite a bit; the flycatcher was a little smaller than the robin, similar in size & structure to a phainopepla. Crested head, distinct white eye ring, all gray upper body & head, yellow belly and undertail coverts, fairly long dark tail with white at the base.
