Observation details
In the near gale winds with myself and the handheld phonescope shaking so badly, and with the distance from the interstate pretty far (maybe .5-.6+ miles), and with the shimmer quite evident, a young Bald Eagle had been perched on a prey item at the southern end of the fairly large but probably temporary water which was holding all of the waterfowl (maybe 200) just to the south of the interstate when a young Golden Eagle came in to contest the bird for its prey. The young Bald Eagle seeing the young Golden hard charging in took off with most of its prey, and the young Golden settled on maybe some left behind remains, but unhappy with the results immediately took off to pursue the Bald Eagle briefly. Managed a few screen captures from the almost unusable video showing a little of the actions of each eagle during the quick sequence.
