Observation details
Continuing. Compact Tringa sandpiper, about the size of a Sanderling but with slightly longer greenish-yellow legs. Bill was medium length and mostly straight, occasionally appearing ever so slightly up-turned though I believe this was mostly the product of the bicolored bill (paler at base and darker at tip). Bill slightly thicker than that of a Lesser Yellowlegs. Upperparts grayish brown with prominent pale spackling across majority of the wings and back. Neck short, and head blocky, with a large-eyed appearance, further accentuated by the pale suproral area and supercilium. Crown dark. I’m flight showed a whitish uppertail covert patch which contrasted heavily with rear of rump and back. Photos and audio recordings will be uploaded at a later date.
