Observation details
A light adult suddenly landed along the edge of the road at (19.7079794, -155.9578914) and ran around in the weeds a bit and captured something small (not sure if small rodent or bird) then flew up into a tree and ate it while calling often. Another was calling nearby. Eventually the hawk soared away but I saw it again a few minutes later doing the swooping, roller-coaster courtship flight low over the canopy along Kaloko Drive. The proportions of these hawks is very unique; they are rather small (STHA/BWHA size) but have large heads and fairly long legs.
