Observation details
Moth-like owls flying around over marsh. Flat faces and somewhat droopy wings. Too dark to see any plumage details. Silhouettes seen well against clear western sky which still had some color. One came from behind and headed out over the bay where it joined another one. A few minutes later one came back with a unique flight style. It was changing directions a lot, reminiscent of a nighthawk catching insects. It went down behind the corner pines, possibly to roost. ID based on silhouettes, size, and flight style which seemed consistent with SEOW, but I have limited experience with other owls in flight.
