Observation details
I first heard the song of BCCH, "fee-bee." It sang repeatedly. I then saw the bird and noted the white edging of the secondary wing feathers. The bird looked slightly more round than the Carolinas. I then heard the call, slower and lower pitch than Carolina. I used Merlin to verify. BCCH have been in this area all winter. Some days during the winter, I had 6-8 different BCCH. This area is reclaimed strip mine grassland and Russian olive. For some reason the BCCH frequent this habitat in this area.
