Observation details
Single bird flying over the road. It immediately stood out as an unusual-looking Sharp-shinned Hawk compared to what I am used to in North America. I can't find much information on "Madrean" Sharp-shinned Hawk online but the combination of the very pale underparts, whitish throat and cheeks and contrasting blackish cap all seem to fit this subspecies and match the bird in this eBird checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S22711027. See attached photos.
