Observation details
One adult male with two female types foraging in short grass off Pelican Street. After initially trying to find these birds without any luck, I spent some time checking the airfield. Upon returning to Pelican Street, I was soon greeted with a vocal female which landed in the grass very close to my vehicle. Close-up photos were obtained of this bird. Presently, the adult male and the two female types flushed and circled around the lawn area, whereupon they landed not too far away in the rough lawn off the northeast side of Pelican Street. Even though the longspurs were fairly close by, their cryptic coloration and habit of crouching down in the grass made it difficult to find them.
