Observation details
Continuing bird. Photos. it had not been seen since around 12:00 noon so we lined up different birders to viewing different sections of the Marsh. Around 3:40 Jean Leanotti of our group relocated the bird and relayed the position of the bird to the rest of the birders. About the overall size of BTWE. the most noticeable field mark is the diagnostic white eye brow that runs down along side of nape. The striking field mark is the distinctive gray back and sides. Dark bill longer than the length of head. Some angles bird looked like it had long bill and thin neck On side of body there is large swath of gray that runs from the edge of brown on the upper breast; very long scapulars drape across the birds back .Interestingly, the bird almost holds its wings above its body slightly horizontally rendering the impression of a small tent. Additional photos added later.
