Observation details
I was driving southbound on Appleton Rd., just south of Stricklersville Rd., when I noticed a small white heron in the pasture to the left. This is the same farm where I previously found a Cattle Egret (23 November 2021: https://ebird.org/checklist/S97963118). I pulled over briefly and put my hazards on, and managed to take a couple quick (terrible) photos with my iPhone. I did not have binoculars and cannot rule out immature Little Blue Heron, or even Snowy Egret, but given the farm pasture habitat and history of Cattle Egret showing up at this farm, I am tentatively IDing the bird as Cattle Egret. By the time I got home, let my dog out, etc., and returned to the scene with my long lens, it was about 1800. The cattle were in from the pasture and at the feeding station. The bird was no where to be seen, and I drove the perimeter of the farm looking in the adjacent fields with no luck. I will keep a look out for the bird over the next fews days, as I pass the site in the morning and afternoon on my way to work.
