Observation details
Continuing from earlier today. It was foraging in the upper mudflats of Highline Lake. Found by Linda and Ada who showed the bird to us today. The bird looked to be in alternate plumage. It had black patches at sides of neck, behind eye and on forehead. Thin 1/2 inch long (approx.) black bill and gray legs. White belly and brownish back. Foraging with short runs and characteristic start-stop movements of plovers.
