Observation details
Listened to very consistent drumming for nearly 5 minutes - drumming of a couple seconds followed by a pause of roughly 20 seconds. After some a loud noise from a nearby group of people it stopped drumming and flew from the tree it had been in. It was not seen closely enough to see any of it's distinguishing field markings but the drumming was characteristic. Audio attached. Flight from tree was characteristic of woodpeckers with the typical pronounced undulating flapping/glide sequence as it disappeared after crossing an opening span of approx. 30m. and size was consistent with HAWP.
