Observation details
Found earlier in the day by Julie Wachholz. Large, robust, handsome sparrow reminiscent of other Zonotrichia sparrows. Brown, streaked back and wings. Narrow white wing-bars. Gray breast extended to face. White semicircle below eye. Broad black band above eye extended form bill to back of head. Bright gold crown, white extended behind the gold. Observed from small parking lot on east side of Chesire Parkway. Fed on the ground in grass only a few yards from the lot - the bird seemed unconcerned with the many onlookers.
