Observation details
Can rule out every other expected species of gull (Herring, Short-billed because of light primaries; Glaucous-WInged because it's small [compared to Thayer's nearby] and not dark enough overall + parts of the primaries are stark white [+ Olympic isn't really expected and here would likely have lighter wing tips]; California and Slaty-backed because again not dark enough). So definitely Iceland. Wing tips aren't dark enough for Thayer's so it's either glaucoides or kumlieni, we can see in the flight photos that it has black on the first few primaries which rules out glaucoides from my knowledge. Shoutout to Sejal who spotted that this gull was weird in the first place!
