Observation details
Holy moly!!! I was NOT expecting this dude. I had all but given up hope of seeing the 2 Demoiselle Cranes that someone photographed and posted on facebook on March 25th 2022 near dolan harding road. But as we finished our walk and returned to the car around 6 30, I saw a large stocky bird flying low south over Los Verjeles Road. I realized it was a crane, and given the oddness of this bird, my brain clicked and I realized this could be that bird. So I grabbed my camera and got some identifiable shots. Called Liam, who pointed out the date of the last report (both in March. Coincidence? Probably. Do they migrate? Probably not. But who knows. I will be keeping an eye out for another encounter. Photos show band on upper right leg.
