Observation details
Overall very light in color; Non-existend belly band; Very light patagial marks; Head is very light colored, except for dark malar stripe; Small dark wrist commas; Narrow black bands in the remiges; The tail shows some red, as some Krider's do. This RTHA exhibits enough Krider traits to assign it to that population. Per Jerry Liguori, "...we consider birds with at least three of the field marks discussed below to be Krider’s, and Red-tailed Hawks with fewer than three to be potential intergrades with neighboring subspecies" Reference; Jerry Liguori, "A Study of Krider's Red-tailed Hawk", ABA "Birding," March 2010 (.pdf).
