Observation details
Thin, complete eye-ring (no bulge forward or back); short, thin bill, mostly dark underneath, flesh color at base; long primary projection. (This description was written before seeing the attached photo, which shows some bulge of the eye-ring forward and back and mostly flesh-colored lower mandible - which opens up the possibility of this being a Pacific-slope Flycatcher, except for the narrow bill and the long primary projection. Still looks good for Hammond's, especially at this time of year - and the observation made by Michael Perrone of a Hammond's just 10 days before at the same general location - about one-third mile along Babel Slough Road from South River Road.)
