Media notes
Two woodcocks can be heard in this recording. One is close and the other a little further away.
Observation details
I parked at the Coyote Run Trail. I heard the first Woodcock at 6:20pm, 150 yards north of the road to the cabins where it crosses the horse trail. It sang 5 times in less than 10 minutes, then I walked back to the car. I heard two more on the way back, and when I got to the Coyote Run Trail I heard 2 taking turns singing. I heard one last year at the intersection of Coyote Run Trail and Horseman's Trail. These birds are clearly very picky as to how much light is left for them to sing. I could still see, walking back to my car, but 10 minutes later it was dark.
