Observation details
Continuing birds, first reported by Cindra Smith. Seen almost immediately upon entering neighborhood as the small group flew from a tree near the community center to another at the intersection of Roaring Camp Dr and Boom Pointer Way. After about three minutes, they flew off back in the direction of the community center. Large finches with strident “kleer” flight calls, pure white secondaries on males and white patches in primaries of females apparent in flight. Males with unique brown and yellow plumage, with prominent yellow unibrow. Females mostly gray with yellow on neck and rump; both sexes showing very thick, pale, conical bills.
