Media notes
Originally one recording, but I removed the beginning and the middle part, where it did not sing for almost a minute.
Observation details
First heard and then also seen, photographed and recorded. Initially observed while perched on the ground, foraging on the grass (photo 1), but then moving from tree to tree and singing from various locations (photos 2 and 3). This is not a very common bird in this part of the city, but it has been recorded before in Parque Benemérita Guardia Civil and the Malecón of San Isidro. Olive green above, whitish bellow, and a heavy dark gray bill. The song consist of short interspersed phrases of three notes that form a rising scale, quite loud and not like the song of any of the other birds around. Sometimes a harshers fourth note is added to the phrase.
