Media notes
Three small birds are are CAGO (two in middle left and right most bird). Note short, stubby, triangular bills and steep foreheads.
Observation details
Photos. One bird showed characters of typical CAGO: small size; short, stubby, triangular bill; steep forehead; flat crown; slight peak at rear of crown; neck shorter than adjacent CANG; slight indentation on cheek patch. The other 3 I was not sure of so sent this checklist to CANG/CAGO expert Steve Mlodinow who confirmed that all 4 are CAGO. This is the largest number of this species I have ever seen in Boone Co. or anywhere in central MO.
