Observation details
Shocking! Saw a large shorebird sitting on the southeastern-most rock wall by the marina, so we broke out the scope. Description: large shorebird, bi-colored bill (pinkish-orange at base, black toward tip). Bill extremely long, nearly straight but perhaps with a hint of an upward curve, legs black. Dark stripe though eye, light stripe above. Bird rich brown to slightly red-brown overall, back fairly mottled-looking, extremely fine barring on front. Was briefly spooked by a Canada goose (who apparently wanted its spot on the wall!) and flew/ran a short distance with wings open, bright cinnamon under wings. See photos (sorry, the biggest one we could get was through the scope and it of course turned out foggy).
