Observation details
Immature. Quite small next to DCCO. I noted a much smaller cormorant lined up with about 30 DCCO (mostly ads, a couple imms.) It was fairly evident that the size difference was not due to posture of bird or angle of view. It was all dark brown with bronzy hue. Mostly, it slept, but when it held its head up, the head and bill appeared proportionately a bit smaller than that of the surrounding DCCOs. The bill was dull yellow turning to yellow-orange at the gular patch. The gular patch was small, pointed towards rear, with a white border along lower edge. There was no color in loral area, quite distinctly different from neighboring DCCO. The tail was proportionately long.
