NOTES: Background Sounds: Black Australian Cricket. Notes on original data form: "My son captured a hedgehog a few minutes before this recording was made. He placed it on the damp lawn with a corrugated paper box over it to retain it for me. I set up the recorder, turned the box over and placed the microphone next to the Hedgehog's nose. It was semi-curled up in a not-very-tight ball and his spines fairly stiff. After a minute or two he relaxed and commenced the snuffling sounds (which are typical) and which are on this tape. Then he commenced walking along the edge of the house, and I had to move the microphone a few times to keep up with him. Later he walked across the lawn, disappeared in the dark and was allowed to escape. The sounds are very faint, producing only -20db at 2 inches distance." JN 1Sep2005.
